Here’s some information to take in consideration when purchasing your new car.

#1 Safety Ratings Check the Insurance Institute for Highway Safety or the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration’s (NHTSA) crash test scores. Look for all G (Good)or four and five star crash test rating for front and side-impact tests.

#2 Frontal, Side Impact and Side Curtain Airbags

Many people wonder how we arrive at the value of a customer’s trade. There are several things that we are looking at, some being obvious, and other’s being factors less likely to be known by the consumer.

The first thing that we are looking at as we approach a vehicle is the overall condition. Is the paint glossy? Are there any dings or dents? Does the windshield have any blemishes? Has there been any obvious paint work?

How to get the most out of your test drive

Not all vehicles are created equal. That is why it is important to properly test drive all vehicles you are comparing, to make sure you are giving each one a fair chance. Some people feel that flooring the gas pedal out of the parking lot or slamming on the breaks on a busy highway accurately demonstrate the ability of the vehicle. However, all this does is endanger you and the sales associates' safety, and gives a poor example of a vehicles true ability.
